History & Overview

BowWest Community Resource Centre operates under the auspices of the BowWest Community Support Services Society, a not-for-profit organization founded in 1999. We serve the residents of northwest Calgary by connecting individuals and families to economic, social and educational opportunities that help them lead more resilient lives.

Our programs are delivered in the communities we serve, and at two Community Resource Centres at the following locations:
• Ranchlands office: 14—1840 Ranchlands Way, NW
• Bowness office: 7904—43 Avenue, NW

BowWest offices are staffed by Community Advocates (Advocates) and with volunteers providing program support. Volunteers help with reception services, staff our free clothing room and assist at Fresh Market Connections, a free-food market held every two weeks in the Bowness and Ranchlands offices.

BowWest also offers Community Resource Hubs in several communities in northeast and northwest Calgary. These hubs allow residents to access BowWest’s basic needs services and supports closer to where they live.

Our strategic partners include Bowness Boys and Girls Club, Bowmont Families Together, North Central Family Support Program, Pathways Community Services, St. Vincent de Paul Society, Sunrise Community Link, Wood’s Homes and our funders. BowWest also works closely with various community associations and churches in the communities we serve.
